Kaukapakapa Primary School is situated at the southern entrance to the Kaukapakapa Village, about 10 minutes north-east of Helensville. The school is Decile 7 and has a roll of 280. We cater for children from Year 0 to Year 8.

We continually work towards the following goals for our students:

  • To offer through competent teaching, with community support, programmes that encourage children to develop their individual potentials.
  • To provide children with appropriate life skills and understandings for their futures.
  • To provide innovative teacher development programmes.
  • To recognise and provide for individual differences.
  • To cater for the emotional, intellectual, physical, and spiritual well-being of children in a supportive environment.
  • To continue to establish effective communication between the school and its community, that will enable community skills, attitudes, and expertise to be incorporated in the school's development.

Our school:

  • achieves high levels of academic success including in literacy and numeracy.
  • ensures that each student leaves our school with a strong sense of self belief and the attributes to be a well rounded citizen in our world.
  • provides one-to-one digital devices for all students in Years 5-8 with a class set of devices available for Years 3-4.  Touch screen TVs and projectors are in all classrooms.  MBots, Makey Makey kits and other devices are being used to teach simple coding.
  • believes that Sport and Education Outside the Classroom are major influences on students all round development. Apart from in school sport we take part in many inter school exchanges. This year we have classes staying away from school at Mangawhai, Arataki and our Year 7 & 8 students are spending a week in Wellington.
  • has an annual Agriculture Day which is an important feature in retaining the rural feeling for our community.
  • has a large playing field, adventure playground, shade areas, large trees including a stand of kahikatea and a 25 metre swimming pool.

We are fortunate to have a most supportive Board of Trustees and a motivated, highly active School Support Group which fundraises very effectively for the School.
